How to Fold an Origami Crane & Write Crane (tsuru) in Japanese Hiragana and Kanji (difficulty 5/10)
Fool-proof instructions for folding an origami crane, for home or the classroom. There is a Japanese legend that says if you fold 1,000 origami cranes your wish will be granted by a magical crane. In this tutorial I will show you how to fold these origami cranes so maybe your wish will be granted. At the end of the video, I will also show you how to write the Japanese word for crane, called tsuru, in Japanese characters.

Use this fairly easy turkey origami for a Thanksgiving project like turkey table decorations, turkey namecard holders, turkey napkin rings, or just simply turkey origami for kids' fine motor skills. Some first graders can do it, but I recommend the timings below if you are folding origami in the classroom.

Easy Origami Rabbit (うさぎ)
Difficulty: 2 out of 10
Read on to see guidelines for teachers.
This is the easiest of the origami rabbit designs. I use a block of square paper from the dollar store. The hardest step for students is folding the ears up, so demonstrate it slowly and walk around the classroom to check for understanding during that part.
For Japanese teachers who want to add this to their lessons, I recommend teaching entirely in Japanese. Set aside the following blocks of time:
